This will be the 10th year I've painted the rock. My wife had the idea to have a celebration. She's throwing this celebration with the help of the Greenfield Chamber (greenfieldiowa.com), Operation Mom, the Patriot Guard Riders, and the Iowa National Guard.
There will be ceremony with guest speakers at the rock and then we will roll into Greenfield where I'll have some personal artwork on display as well as prints and merchandise for sale.
All are invited! Please send an email to maria_galanakis36@hotmail.com so she can send you an evite (internet invitation) and you can RSVP.
More info on the event will be coming soon....tell your family and friends to come enjoy a fun filled patriotic day!

This is really cool! My son is a Patriot Rider in central Illinois, and I will have to tell him, I'm sure if he is available he would love to ride. He was in Iraq for 15 months in 2005. Boy, did I hate that time in my life as a mother!! I will continue to watch your site - keep up the awesome work!!! Lisa
Lisa - please tell you son - THANK YOU for your service.
And Mom/Lisa - Thank you - it had to have been rough!
Bubba,
As a military wife & mother of 2, I was amazed when I received an email containing pictures of your artwork. Truly talented and amazing.
It is nice to know that there are still Americans who are patriotic and not afraid to express their love of country. For that I say thank you.
I hope your artwork will inspire others to speak out so we can begin to take back our great country. No matter what our politicians excuses are, Democrats & Republicans alike, they are all directly responsible for the current conditions of this country, not just our President. It is time we start holding them accountable.
Thank you for your dedication & love of country and to your wife for her unfailing support and love.
I hope your work will allow others to express their patriotism.
Thank you!

Bubba,
A friend sent the ROCK story to me while my son was deployed to Iraq in 04-05 and I've been following its transformation ever since. These were hard times, but it helped knowing there were people out there who appreciate the service and sacrafice of military members.
I'm going to be in Des Moines May 17/18 and hope to finally see the ROCK in person (and perhaps the artist?). I'm going to just miss being part of the big celebration on the 25th-darn!
Thanks for sticking with it for 10 years -that's dedication.

I am the wife of a Marine Vet (Korea) and we have a grandson who is a Marine, a grandson who was in the 82nd Airborne and a Ranger, he went over at the beginning, a grandson who is at West Point, a grand-daughter who was in the Air Force, she is married to a 1st Lt in the Air Force. So we very much appreciate your art work.
I have two brothers who were in Nam.
Thank you for your tribute to ALL branches. Your art work has brought brought tears to my eyes.
Our service members don't always get the respect and thanks they deserve. You do an awesome job of that.
Hi Bubba - What you are doing with “the rock” is great. I'm glad you are "pressured" into painting your murals recognizing the sacrifices by Americans. It’s a good thing. You are a good artist.
Go Niners and Giants! My favorite teams as well.
